February 21, 2018 – At the embedded world exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany, Vision Components (hall 2, stand 2-454) will showcase new embedded vision systems. In addition to an extended range of models with CMOS sensors from the Sony Pregius series, trade show visitors are invited to witness the launch of the ARM-based 3D triangulation sensor VC nano 3D-Z.

The manufacturer offers a full portfolio of components for machine vision applications: OEMs can choose between standalone board cameras and enclosed versions with a standard or protective housing. Furthermore, the manufacturer offers extensive software libraries. The latest generation Sony Pregius CMOS sensors achieve high frame rates at high resolutions.

The VC line-up of smart cameras based on these powerful sensors now comprises two basic models in different configurations and will be further extended. The board-level cameras are available with an onboard or remote sensor head that together with their compact design facilitates integration into any application. The latest new model uses an IMX273 sensor with a 1.6 MP resolution, which achieves frame rates up to 170 fps at this resolution. A sister model with an IMX252, which was launched in 2017, features a 3.2 MP resolution. Both cameras employ global-shutter technology as a sure-fire measure against bloom, smear, distortion, or overexposure.
