Basler will showcase the newest CMOS cameras with extremely light-sensitive Sony STARVIS sensors and the superfast and high-resolution Sony Pregius sensors. With their impressive values for dynamic range, dark noise and quantum efficiency, these cameras explore new horizons in low-light and high-speed applications.

Philadelphia, January 16, 2018 – Basler will be exhibiting at the SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco, California, January 30 – February 1 and show the latest ace models with the Sony STARVIS and the Sony Pregius sensors.

The Basler ace U cameras with the innovative back-illuminated Sony STARVIS sensors (IMX178, IMX226) stand out with their high light sensitivity, low dark noise of 3 electrons and high quantum efficiency of over 80%. The eight rolling-shutter models are a great fit for low-light applications like manual light or fluorescence microscopy and some electronics assembly operations.

The Basler ace L with the newest generation of Sony Pregius sensors (IMX253, IMX255, IMX267, IMX304) is an excellent choice for highly demanding applications, where high resolution and high speed are required, like AOI systems for display inspection or ITS enforcement systems. The twelve global-shutter models provide 9 and 12 megapixels resolutions, up to 42 fps frame rates, more than 70 dB dynamic range and a high quantum efficiency.

Basler's Application Engineer, Sean Pologruto, will give a live presentation on the technology behind the newest Sony STARVIS and Pregius sensors on the first day of the exhibition, January 30, at 4pm in the Demo Area 2 (Hall D North).

Working with an industry partner, Critical Link, Basler will be running an embedded vision live demo featuring Basler’s board level camera module dart BCON for LVDS, the embedded vision development kits, and the pylon Camera Software Suite.

In addition, Basler Lenses with 1/2.5" and 2/3" image circles and the 1" lens series are displayed together with the corresponding cameras.

The Basler tabletop number is 52.
