OpenCV is an open-source software component library for computer vision application development. OpenCV is a powerful tool for prototyping embedded vision algorithms. Originally released in 2000, it has been downloaded over 3.5 million times. The OpenCV library supports over 2,500 functions and contains dozens of valuable vision application examples. The library supports C, C++, and Python and has been ported to Windows, Linux, Android, MAC OS X and iOS.

The most difficult part of using OpenCV is building the library and configuring the tools. The OpenCV development team has made great strides in simplifying the OpenCV build process, but it can still be time consuming. To make it as easy as possible to start using OpenCV, BDTI has created the Quick-Start OpenCV Kit, a VMware image that includes OpenCV and all required tools preinstalled, configured, and built. This makes it easy to quickly get OpenCV running and to start developing vision algorithms using OpenCV.

John,

I've just confirmed that the link works fine (at least for me). It'll bring up a Dropbox page; click on the "Download" button and the download will begin. Please email me at webmaster@embedded-vision.com if you continue to have problems. Thanks!

We've moved the file to another hosting provider. Please let me know (dipert@embedded-vision.com) if you continue to have difficulties downloading it.

Apologies for the problems you're all having of late; our file-hosting provider (with whom I was on the phone for several hours last night) seems to be having issues right now. Based on server load, the download completes just fine some times, and fails others. I'm investigating alternatives. For now, please send me an email at dipert@embedded-vision.com if you'd like a copy of the file. I'll update this post when I've resolved the issue

Agree. Dropbox would be great. I tried 5 systems at two different locations and plenty of storage space. Transfer just stops.

Download stops after only about 10 or 20 megs of 2.1 GB. Would you put this somewhere that users can download it like Dropbox.com or Sendthisfile.com? It isn't very useful when no one can download across the Internet.

I have tried chrome and internet explorer and Firefox on Windows 7 all with the same result. This was from a 500 Mbit/s connection at a library. I have 369 GB free space on this PC.

I just tried from a different computer using Chrome on Windows 7 and connecting to the Internet through a Verizon 4G cellular hotspot. Same result. That laptop has 398 GB free.

So it isn't caused by the PC, the browser, or the carrier. There isn't anything left but Embedded Vision's end.

The download  transfer failed for me several times. Tried with chrome and IE on Win8. Gets about 100/200MB and then says I'm done. Cable modem. Various large transfers of other packaged from other sites have no problems. Not sure what other details can be provided. Is there an alternate download site?

Dear legendbb (and others),
I'm able to consistently download the 2.1 GByte file fine over my ~100 Mbps downstream Comcast connection in CO. But a co-worker in CA had the download prematurely terminate earllier this week. We're still trying to sort out whether the problem you're experiencing is at the server or client end (or both). Please first make sure you have sufficient storage space at your end for the entire 2.1 GByte file, and then attempt the download at various times of day/week (ideally over multiple Internet service provider options) and report back your results. We appreciate your assistance in diagnosing and resolving the issue!

Dear sklaen,

I've just confirmed that the file is a valid ZIP on the server. I suspect that the download is prematurely terminating due to either a network connection issue or insufficient storage space availalable on your end. Make sure that the downloaded file size is 1.9 GBytes.

I believe that the password is "ubuntu". Please see related discussions here:

http://www.embedded-vision.com/search/node/password

If that doesn't work, please reply and I'll ask the developer to respond
