CogniVue's smart enhanced backup camera application software runs on the CV220X family of Image Cognition Processors and provides a complete smart rear view application for ensuring driver safety while reversing, in order to avoid back-over accidents and collisions. The software performs wide angle lens distortion correction, object detection, and distance estimation in real-time using a single smart camera module. The software alert drivers of obstacles in the vehicle's rear-path when reversing. The application supports different views, including panoramic, top-down (i.e. bird's eye), and left/right split views.
